Thank you ladies....

Well, we've had a pretty good night tonight, and got a lot of lovely cards for charity made.... I'll post photos tomorrow in the morning when the light is better for taking them (you all know my luck with the camera!). Thank's go to Rene, Avril, Karen, and the two Claire's for you awesome help. I hope you enjoyed yourselves.

My Swap Cards

Ok, so the other day I showed you the swap card I received that used Together Forever. I also made my swap cards with that stamp set and the matching wheel Forever Flowers. I made 120 of them and they were so very quick to make. I highly recommend the wheels if you have a lot of cards to make in a short time, they are awesome. My daughter helped me with the assembling and she loved the mum and me time.

I made mine in an assortment of colours, of which I am showing you 3. The choice with a card like this is endless.....

Quick Note.....

I know I said I'd show you my convention swaps today, but I'm having a few computer problems, so I'm updating from elsewhere..... technology - where would we be without it?

Together forever - outside the box

I attended convention in Canberra a few months ago, and received a lot of wonderful swap cards (I'll show you my swap cards tomorrow). The swap cards go into my box for my customers to admire and get inspiration for using the sets they have (or are thinking about buying). I sometimes use them myself as the basis of a card for a workshop, or in this case almost completely case them!

I have the Together Forever set, in fact it is one that I totally love, but I could not see a way to use the stamps for anything other than a wedding card. This card is my own interpretation of a card I received from Maureen Canning, and it was perfect to showcase the markers direct to the stamps. Thank you Maureen for the lovely card and for helping my to think outside the box.

 

Bold bugs and kisses

I love the colours in the Rich Regals and Earth Elements colour families. I use the Soft Subtles quite often as well. But I just can't seem to use the Bold Brights very often, they are just a bit out of my comfort zone (except for the Real Red and Tempting Turquoise which I absolutely adore). However, when I pulled out the Bugs and Kisses set recently I kept being drawn to the bright colours, something about this set just wants to be bold and bright!

I love this colour combo! I'll be trying the bright colours a bit more often now, after all, it's just paper.... if I don't like it I can start again!  Let me know what you think.

 

I love this business.....

Yesterday I shared a birthday card I received from Lisa, today my postie delivered to me (sounds like a song...) another card from a fellow demonstrator. This one is from Genevra Higgs. Genevra's card is a thankyou card. When I helped Genevra out a short time ago, I certainly didn't expect anything in the mail. Believe me Genevra when I say, Thanks to YOU for reminding me why I am in this business in the first place.

Happy Mail!

I love receiving happy mail... today when I got home from uni I checked the mail. My first thought was "no bills, YAY". My second was "Oooh a birthday card". Yes folks, today is my birthday. I never really make a huge deal over my birthday (although the kids and DH always try to make me feel special). So I really wasn't expecting any birthday mail. The card was from a fellow demonstrator Lisa who made me feel very special. Thanks Lisa, it is lovely.

   

Heartfelt Thanks

I wanted to show you today a simple card using one of my favourite stamp sets Heartfelt Thanks.

This set is gorgeous, with several different flowers and bushes, and 2 sentiment stamps. It is perfect for almost every occasion, and what is the best feature is that it is a foolproof 2 step stamp set. I demonstrate it at almost every workshop I hold as it always amazes people seeing 2 steps for the first time.

This card also uses a stitching technique.... I'm not sure what it is called, I remember it from school (am I showing my age here???).

Workshops and Classes

I'm off to a workshop this evening. I'm looking forward to sharing my passion with a new bunch of stampers.

Our monthly Charity Crop Night is fast looming. Join us as we make Cards for Camp Quality - a fantastic charity for children (and their families) with cancer. The cards we make will be used as cards for the children to send and will also be sold by the charity to directly raise funds.
